Here's my confusion and maybe I just have to live with it: In their marriage record Antonio's father is listed as Joao, which matches, and his mother is listed as Jacinta Candida. In the baptism you linked to, his mother is Francisca. In their marriage record Thomasia's parents are listed as Luiz Cabral and Antonia Candida. In the baptism record you linked to her father is Francisco.
Are name changes like this common? And if so, how do you manage to track people over time? I assumed women would be much harder given name changes but not so with men.
