John M, Any post over 30 days old is closed. I suggest you just explain again who you are looking for and what you have done so far (U.S. Census, naturalization, obituaries, etc). In the past 5 years we have several hundred new members so it would be good to post again. Someone in the past 5 years may have your answer!
I have no clue as to why you are picking Angustius in Horta on Faial island. Maybe it's her and maybe it's not. The Azores are 9 islands with approximately 165 church parishes to look at. I'm sure I could find another Maria born approximately on the date you provide in at least half the parishes in the Azores. That would put you on a wild goose chase. Not knowing what other research you have done, no one can evaluate your evidence and give you their thoughts on if it's the correct Maria or not.
