The Catholic Church required the dispensations. My greats had a
dispensation in New Bedford, Massachusetts. But, in America, it was just a
side note in the marriage book. I don't know that dispensation packets
exist. I took pictures of the ones in the Azores and will upload in a week
or 2. Cheri
