Go back and reread the email. I did not give you the link to FamilySearch.
I gave you the link to Tombo.pt, which in turn, links you to the AZOREAN
GOVERNMENT web site. There is a difference between the two.

To my knowledge, the Azores never had governors. I don't think they'd let a
non-Portuguese have power. However, I am not well versed in Azorean
history, so those who are will chime in, I'm sure.
