Also our message board team have just released a public beta of tagging on our local forums. This is only open to internal admins/hosts at the moment so this will just give you an idea of the UI and the concept but I know the team will be grateful for any feedback. The challenge they were trying to solve was how to direct users to multiple threads that they might be interested in across nearly 50 message boards up and down (in this case) the English regions and cities.
