Just in case it's of interest, bitty browser (http://www.bitty.com) is handy for embedding cut-down web sites in personal homepages like iGoogle. E.g. you could make it open the mobile version of the BBC news ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolpda/ukfs_news/hi/default.stm), and have a nice BBC news gadget you can embed in most homepages, without the need to create a gadget yourself.
