I believe it's simpler than that -- consistency of branding. I think they're just enforcing these apparent naming conventions: BBC Radio n -> radio station (whatever 'radio' means these days) BBC n -> TV channel (even where 'n' is spelled out) Until recently, naming for n>4 has been inconsistent, and there are bound to be people who don't know that BBC Four isn't Radio 4, and BBC 7 isn't a TV channel at all; those people are perhaps now living in a media universe that is epsilon less confusing. -- Frank Wales [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Sent via the backstage.bbc.co.uk discussion group.
