I'm in the process of writing one, getting some practice in with the platform just in case I go down this route during Hack Day. So far so good, once you've figured out the authentication signature. FBML is really useful, saves lots of lookup API calls you would otherwisae have to make. As with all of these things the facebook platform is only really as good as the applications built for it.
