I've not made an app yet, but I've become a pretty avid user of Facebook recently and have tried out a few apps. The problem at the moment seems to be that some of the popular apps (the Flickr one for instance) are developed by part timers and run off cheap shared hosting accounts. Not usually a problem for a mashup, but with the ridicious popularity of Facebook these limitations seem to be the cause errors and malfunctioning all over the show. Not very good.
