Hello, dear BackupPC developers, First of all, thanks for a great product, I'm migrating from Bacula to BackupPC and, so far, I'm loving it.
However, I'm doing my backups to an external drive, so I really need to change the TopDir definition to move it to the place where I mount that drive. I did it on the config file, but I had errors on my logs saying that it was not possible to create hard links, and when I investigated further, I saw that CPool was not set appropriately to under the new TopDir. Looking at the history of the list at SourceForge, I found this: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=20080808032558.GG13869%40gratch.parplies.de Which contains a patch that, indeed, fixes the problem. It's a fairly obvious patch, since it's setting the CPool and Pool variables right after TopDir is read from the configuration, and not before. Now, that message was posted in August, and the problem was reported at least 5 times after that, but there is no word from the developers on whether this is the solution for this problem or not, in fact the developers have not even acknowledged the problem yet. I'm trying to get Fedora to include that patch in their RPM, but they are complaining that the patch is not included upstream: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=473944 So, dear developers, would you please have a look at this 2 line patch (you can see a copy of it here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=325239) and give your opinion on this problem?
