I'm quite happy with borgbackup as a secondary backup method aside BackupPC and wouldn't go back to rsnapshot and alike. Borgbackup is IMO fast, does deduplication, compression encryption with relatively little effort -- even offsite. And its "pool" of chunks is quite easy to copy. I didn't try borg-rsyncimport which is advertised as "can import existing rsync+hardlink or rsnapshot based backups into a borgbackup repository." Nonetheless I wouldn't want to miss BackupPC.
