If you need (or want) development tools for Solaris, be aware that 
SolarisStudio is freely available.  It has such useful things as 
standards-compliant compilers, and make, and other things.  (Although 
Bacula appears to be written in a dialect of g++ these days, so it's of 
slightly limited use here.)

If you want GNU and other open-source tools, and don't want to build 
them yourself, you can use the OpenCSW repository, at 
https://www.opencsw.org - it can be a little out of date, but it's 
usually adequate.
