Dear Ron, My point is that if you approach the topic as belligerantly as your last post, that is bound to be the case. > The reason I bring it up is this: I believe that our community's > incorrectunderstanding of, and more importantly, incorrect > application of the > principle of infallibility, is the core reason why we as a > community are not > growing. I have stated this many times in many ways, and I know > you always > disagree with me. That's because you fail to present any evidence to support your assertion. I respect your opinion, Susan, very much (I > guess that's > one reason I hang around here, hoping to some day, some way help > you to see > the light on what I consider to be, by far, the most important > issue in the > Baha'i community today). Bigger than Shoghi Effendi's most challenging issue of eliminating prejudice, huh? ;-} But what exactly is this light that you would like me to see? Is the light your castrophizing about the future of the Baha'i community? If you want to persuade me of that, get off the internet and get busy collecting the data which might support your assertion. Get a hold of seekers (from 1-800-42Unite,not the internet) who have decided not to pursue their interest in the Faith. Give them a questionaire and find out if their reasons are the ones you presume. Then come back here and present this data to us. Or by 'light' here do you mean your particular views on infallibility? If the latter, how are our views different? >Divine Providence will not allow our community, with its present > conception of infallibility, to grow further in numbers and//or > influence, until we correct this problem, I believe. Is that prophecy infallible? ;-} Former House member Ian Semple recently gave a talk in England where he was asked how we should deal with the problem of growing fundamentalism in the Baha'i community. Mr. Semple answered "With a sense of humor." You might try it. warmest, Susan The information contained in this e-mail and any attachments thereto ("e-mail") is sent by the Johnson County Community College ("JCCC") and is intended to be confidential and for the use of only the individual or entity named above.
