We see the Remeyites as ignoring or misunderstanding the Will and Testament.
Yet there is one key part they understand better than did the Hands of the
Cause and House of Justice. It is the 'in his own lifetime' part. I realize
their basis for claiming that Shoghi Effendi had chosen Mason Remey is flawed.
But it seems the one thing Joel Marangella has going for him is that he knows
the appointment couldn't have been made in a will, and hence that the Hands
misunderstood the Will and Testament when they looked for a will. This makes
it easier to argue that the Hands could be wrong in their judgment that there
was no successor. My basis for saying the House of Justice agreed with the
Hands about a will is an inference from 'Mason Remey and Those Who Followed
Him'. If the House didn't think an appointment by will was allowable the
document would never exist in its present form. In fact, I doubt it would
exist at all. Would they release a document which disagreed with the Hands'
understanding of a major part of the Will and Testament?
Regards,
David
