Dear David, Typically one writes a will before one dies not afterwards. ;-} An appointment made in a will would still be made during the Guardian's lifetime and hence in keeping with the W&T. Obviously a Guardian did not *have* to be appointed via a will but however appointed it had to receive the endorsement of nine Hands elected for that purpose. . This makes it easier to argue that the Hands could be > wrong in their judgment that there was no successor. Searching for a Will in the absence of evidence that a successor has been appointed any other way is certainly not evidence that there *was* a successor. warmest, Susan __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:[email protected] Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [email protected] Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[email protected] Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
