The Baha'i Studies Listserv Oh, I forgot to put the question in? It was that I do not know that much about the Quran, Hadith, and Islam. What has been their impact on the Baha'i Faith, Babism, and contemporay Islam? According to Wikipedia "There is no Bahá'í corollary to Islamic Hadith; in fact, Bahá'ís do not consider Hadith authoritative." The Baha'i literature do make references to Hadith and some Baha'i laws imply being Hadith based. I will list the links better as to only way to know what the Quran itself teaches is by comparing the Quran to Hadith. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur%27an_alone All links came from the bottom of that Wikipedia page.
What is your view on Hadith & Sunnah? from http://free-minds.org/ 1. I reject them 100% because the Quran is detailed and all we need. 2. I reject them 100% becuase I question their authority. 3. I reject some and accept the ones that make sense. 4. I accept them in general, but I don't practice all they say. 5. I see them as an integral part of Islam which can't be rejected. Of course, we are not Muslims, but it still is relevant about our views of Hadith. Most Muslims, I guess would probably answer number four which depends where you are in the world. In other places, five probably. In really liberal places, two or three. ________________________________ From: Susan Maneck <[email protected]> To: Baha'i Studies <[email protected]> Sent: Tue, April 13, 2010 11:26:55 PM Subject: Re: Quran and Hadith The Baha'i Studies Listserv I'm a bit confused as to what your purpose is in posting these websites.
