The Baha'i Studies Listserv They don't oppose the goals as they oppose the means. Christian Reconstructionists want salvery, but on a race neutral slavery. Rand Paul believes that the free market rather than gov't should punish discriminators. This is more of the economic-fiscal scale rather than the social-perosnal-cultural civic scale. While at the extreme end there are some Reconstructionist Christians who really do want to bring back slavery, even close to the "mainstream" of Republican thinking you have people like Rand Paul who is opposed to portions of the Civil Rights Act.
