Regarding illness, consider Baha'u'llah's Tablet of Wisdom in the "Tablets of Baha'u'llah" where He states, "Nature is God's Will and is its expression in and through the contingent world." Disease is part of the natural world, and when linked with contingency, you have a crap shoot. It makes no more sense to assume some people deserve their illnesses than it does to assume some criminals deserve to get away with their crimes just because they escape detection and justice.
