Dear Friends,

Baha'u'llah says, "Recite ye the verses of God every morn and eventide"
(Paragraph 149 page 73 in The Kitab-I-Aqdas). What does the word 'recite'
mean? Are we being commanded to read the verses of God 'aloud' only. Are
we abiding by this command if the verses of God are read 'silently'?

A posting on another list serve (for a study course) says that the
original Arabic word is 'telavat' and that this word "generally means
reading aloud and in a special melodious voice that is pleasing to hear."

Are there any other thoughts regarding Baha'u'llah's use of the word
'televat' in this command?

Thank you.
