Hi Abhay, Choke should not be used only in frustration - it is meant to be used even under conditions of inspiration! (sorry if the poetry is not making sense - just wanted to be poetic in any case ;) By the way, choke is also good for the engine!!
A well tuned engine will in any case start with some difficulty in cold weather. If it starts easily, it means that the mixture is too rich. I have never understood why people refrain from using this simple device, whether in cars or two wheelers. Few know that even in MPFI engines, there is an autochoke, which get used automatically when the engine is started. I have had my P150 ES. Used it in Delhi since 2002 August. I have used it in all weather conditions. This has included on the early morning of the day that the mercury went to the near zero that happenned in Delhi last year. I use the choke regularly, sometimes even in summers. Also, I have used the kick start only when the battery was kaput for 2 weeks on one occasion. Self has never given any trouble whatsoever till date. So don't get swayed by ill informed communication. Bye // Rajeev.
