My thought was merely to make use of these fine rapiers which were acquired
especially for your previous engagement. No matter, the foil is a weapon
for children and those who would make dueling a 'sport' rather than the
traditional resolution for matters of honour. I would be happy to try my
mettle with you at sabres, coming originally from a cavalry regiment as I
do. I may be out of practice, but I feel sure that the best man will win.
Shall we say Saturday morning at six of the clock? I would like to resolve
this matter and get back in goodly time for my breakfast...
