- Wasn't there a way to warn in advance of the possibility that this
could happen? Even a "this is really not for sure, but the company is
trying to get a big contract, and if the company gets it it would mean
that I would be available for 1.5 months". This would have helped a lot,
even if at the end you didn't get the contract.
[vlad] this is waht i know so far. The client already had a contractor for this project, but for various reasons they had to abruptly terminate the collaboration with them. The project is supposed to be launched on 22 or 23 Jan and the client already has a marketng campaign out for this. They contracted us to basically finish the project on this short deadline. The negiciations were short and i wasn't aware about them since i was not in Romania.
- Even if we hadn't yet finalized the recurring contractor status (so
there is a fault on David and I's side here, definitely), we are still
on a long term relationship, with recurring work. So I'm wondering what
made it more interesting to reassign you to this contract rather than
privileging the long term relationship with Farsides.
[vlad] i don't think that there is a preference for only asigning me. Most of the experience coders will be working on this in order to finish it on time. I also understood that they are trying to expand the team o probably starting January we will be able to provide more coding power. However i understand that you are not interested in this type of collaboration at this point
And I also have the same questions as David on a personal level, Vlad -
are there parts of your work with Farsides that are unsatisfactory for
you? Would be helpful to get your personal feelings.
[vlad] I'm very happy working on hackit. I'm learning a lot and I'm really enjoying the work environment and the personal connections i made in this project. if there's a thing that is still bothering me is the fact that i'm still not able to correctly appreciate the iterations and schedule them to take only one week. I started to read about Agile development and see how they are able to release stuff in very short periods of time with QA, bugs and tests, but so far i only find examples with larger teams or examples of very small stuff released. So i don't if it's something i do wrong or if the setup is not the best (one man, one week). I'm still trying to figure it out.
