It makes sense, yes - we need to keep in mind to not go too far without
better knowing what we want. The discussion is actually about this -
trying to move forward in this area, to try to experiment things. 

In alpha1.0, we have a simple tree/2D representation, this should
already help to see what we need here. But if there are simple things we
could test that would help you to explore things here, it could be cool
to see if it's doable.

Do you think 3D may not help with the representation? How would you
think it is best to represent things here, at the moment?

That the thing - 3D in browsers (and without Flash) is moving forward
very fast at the moment, we'll soon be able to do very cool things...
