Zitat von Thomas de Klein SerNet <[email protected]>:

Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you would like to share his/her experiences with
tape libraries.

Are there any models that in your experience run exceptionaly well with
Bareos/Bacula on Linux?

Equally (or even more) interesting: Are there any models that you had a
realy hard time with and that you would rather avoid?

Cheers
Thomas

Hello,

we have had a MSL6000 (HP) with LTO-2 and since ~2 years a MSL4048 (HP) with LTO-4. Both work well after tweaking with dataspooling and blocksizes, both are old style parallel scsi devices. We use Linux as OS and director/storage on the same machine. The transfer rates for the LTO-4 are from 85MByte/s to 110MByte/s with encrypted data and no (tape related) errors so far.

Regards

Andreas
