That's exactly what I have been doing,

* bcharge is run via the udev rules from current CVS.
* Output from lsusb -v looks fine.
* When the Pearl prompts me "Do you want to turn on Mass Storage Mode?"
  I select "No".
* rmmod usb_storage ... done.

But then btool -l just hangs as before.
