Hi Jd,
should be easy:
1) Find ' / ' replace with '\r/ '
2) Text > Process Lines Containing ...
Enter '/ ' for the Find-lines-text
Check 'Copy to new document'
Check 'Delete matched lines'
Anything before the '/' should be in the old file, anything after it
is copied to the new file. You may wish to remove the '/ ' from the
new file with a simple search/replace.
But make sure, that the ' / ' is only used for seperating the two
colums as step one will replace any ' / ' it finds so this step could
mess up the whole thing if one line would contain two or more ' / '.

I have a large text file for a kreyol/english dictionary.
I want to convert it into a dict file for a beiks dictionary reader
for Palm.

My text file looks like this:
*****
abound / gen anpil, abonde
about / apropo, a
about to (do something) / fè sa pou
above / anlè, soutèt
*****
Now, I need to parse this file with a large number of lines and
extract all the chars in front of the '/' and write them to a new
file, then put in a new line. Then throw away the '/', get the rest
of the chars and write that in a second new file, with a new line.
Any hints?
I guess NeoOffice can make an excel file.
