Hi All,

In this case, consider using Interarchy's Watch Traffic feature to get a traffic dump of the FTP connection and then you can send it to your ISP and ask WTF?

I have taken Transcripts of FTP connections to the offending server and sent them to the ISP. A cleaned-up version (not showing Logins, Passwords nor IPs) appears below.

There is one Transcript for Fetch - it switches to PASV mode if the server wants it to. And 2 transcripts for Interarchy - one with PASV off and the other with PASV on.

A phone conversation with another Tech guy (who queried others who maintain the new server) indicates that I do indeed need to have PASV switched on (which confirms my transcripts). However, as per my second email, BBEdit gets a beachball when requesting a file-listing. The FTP Browser window indicates that I am connected, but I'm unable to see anything or go anywhere.

Is there something about BBEdit's FTP or PASV FTP which might not be working well with PASV even when it is switched on?

Is there any way I can get an FTP Transcript from BBEdit?

cheers,robin
