If you want to be able to read root/mail files via BBEdit, the
simplest method is to add your id to the mail group (you are allowed
to belong to more than one group). So long as you belong to a group
you can read and write files in that group.
I tried this using NetInfo Manager (OS X 10.4.11). I added a 'users'
property to the 'mail' group and added my account and 'mail' as
values for the 'users' property. I still cannot get into the
root/mail folder.
Did I do this incorrectly?
