Mac OS X 10.4 & above has BASH and you can see all the commands in the terminal by tapping TAB key twice. For help with a command type man commandname
For example: man tar To read the instructions for the tar command. Many Linux pages also list commands available in the BASH shell since Mac OS X runs on top of UNIX & Linux uses the same programs with them complied for Linux. For Perl there are numerous books or you can go to a perl web site to get a list of commands.
