Hi Ben, Am not sure, but i had come across this while reading the BBedit 10 User Manual:
"Performance Considerations for Function Scanning Some expressions can take an extremely long time to locate particular strings. In order to prevent this kind of behavior from locking BBEdit up, any search that takes more than 1.5 seconds will be aborted.
