If you're looking for something more fine-grained, then check
the list archives, each release contains relevant change notes.
As for changing the version number, well, they did; just think
of the version number as including the build number. Also note,
the multiple builds between releases are "pre-release". Each
"release" gets a new version number. It's all well documented.
(BBSW are one of the few companies that document their
builds/releases so well.[1])

[1] Lots of companies supply change notes with each release, but
few of them are as well written and relevant as BBSW. And that's
not just the change notes themselves, but also the meta
information such as where to get more info, etc.
