I followed that link before posting. I can't see what changed between the two official releases: 10.5.6 (3340) and 10.5.6 (3342). There is a long list of fixes, but nothing about what changed between those two official releases.
I am used to BBEdit beta releases having the build number in the name of the the downloaded file. That's a great policy. But it is rare or unheard of for BareBones to release two different official releases using the same file name and same main version number. When I downloaded the new official 10.5.6 release (3342) I found it had the same filename as the first official 10.5.6 release (3340). It's a pity. Users can't tell what they have without opening the dmg and looking inside. I think many users will think they are up-to-date when they are not. (In fact I saw a posting today from somebody that I think is confused by this). I think your posting was needlessly insulting and it does not answer my question. -- This is the BBEdit Talk public discussion group.
