Well, I've tried many combinations, as well as what you suggested just now, but that seems to have no impact on my result.

are you trying to use this driver as an access point ? I don't know if
it's supported but i'd so it's not.

For associating with my ap i do:

iwconfig eth1 essid <myessid> channel <mychan> [rate 11M]


I'm currently using an old version of the driver, with a 2.6.15 kernel,
but it works great.
