----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Manoj Message 2 in Discussion Hi, Typically, a DataAdapter is associated with one DataTable at a time. This is bcos the DA.Update method would use InsertCommand, UpdateCommand and DeleteCommand properties (Command Objects) which again, would be using a particular set of the stored procedures/sql statements against a particular table. So, logically, it would be very hard to update multiple tables using a single command (insert/update/delete). Even if this is possible to do so, you would face many problems while updating a multitable Dataset with output params from the DB. Moreover, generalizing your data access layer code would become very hard and code would be very messy there. In this case, u might end up repeating the functionality of DA yourself. So, we can continue to do a da.update on each DataTable. Again, internally no batching happens in the DataAdapter. That is, database hits are made on a row by row basis.
