----------------------------------------------------------- From: Manoj Message 4 in Discussion Hi Ravikumar, See, the DataAdapter does a lot of things for us behind the scenes when you call upon the Update method like: 1. Check the Rowstate of each row in the DataTable and then calling the right command (insert/update/delete) 2. Update the DataSet/DataTable rows back with output parameter values, if any. 3. Set the RowError information for each row if the operation returned an error if ContinueUpdateOnError is true or else raise an error. 4. Call upon AcceptChanges if everything goes fine. 5. Also, the DataAdater raises a lot of useful events like OnRowUpdating , OnRowUpdated etc which we can handlers for. You can definitely do the update data manually, but remember that you might need to emulate the DataAdapter here which may be a big effort!
