Hi Sateesh, This is very interesting topic and easy to solve.. If you just have a look 
at Transaction Properties ACID, we can look into Isolation , Isolation Level Setting 
like SERIALIZABLE, Locks the entire data set being read and keeps the lock until the 
transaction completes. This ensures that the data and its order within the database do 
not change during the transaction. So in a scenario like 2 persons are reading the 
same record and first person is retrieving (primary  key max(number)+1,  the other 
persons ReadRequest continuously Pings the DB until the FirstPerson Commits/Rollback 
his Changes . So we neednot worry about Updations Commits/Rollbacks once if u set the 
Isolation Level  Hope this clarifies your doubt.   Pratap
