----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Saravana Message 10 in Discussion Hi, To understand this you should first know how .NET Runtime locate assemblies, read this article. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconhowruntimelocatesassemblies.asp When you reference any assembly in .NET, it wont use the source dll path for accessing that dll. .NET uses probing methodology to access the assembly, so first it will check whether your component is there in GAC. If it is there, it will use it. Otherwise it will check for application directory and its bin directory. Hope this helps you. -Saravana http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/saravana/ www.ExtremeExperts.com ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
