Interesting, and good to know. I somehow got a 2015 version of uboot onto my eMMC (I was building my own kernel and putting it on an SD card, how the eMMC version got changed, I'll never know). I know the uEnv.txt line for disabling capes works with that uBoot, no idea if I'd be able to load a whole new dtb that way.
