Wow! That really is strange—beets should definitely be catching these
duplicates.
As you mentioned, you do have this option set in your config file:
duplicate_action: skip
Does removing this setting have any effect?
Beyond that, I’m not sure how to reproduce this to investigate further. Maybe
you can send along a set of files and commands to run on them so we can observe
this behavior?
