I agree, more often than not I will see emails on my BB before they show up in 
Outlook, although lately they've been pretty neck to neck. Depends mostly on 
how many users total in your environment and how many users you have on BES.

I often see mail on my Curve before the desktop in an Exchange
environment.  While I am sure BES is scanning the mailbox on the server,
as Jason says, it seems to push it to the handheld often before Outlook
or Evolution pull them to the Desktop.
