Wouldn't work anyway - the OP said hes trying to recover pics from the Curve.. so backing up the 8830 and wiping the curve does nothing to solve the original problem.

I have done this successfully going upwards in version (i.e. Curve to Bold) many times. In theory it should work going down as well. The 8830 is currently on our BES. He's back, but for some reason, his curve is not accepting the device password he said he had. Since it's not currently associated with our BES, I can't simply reset it. Is there any way of getting it associated on the BES (5.0) without having the password? Barring that, is there any way of getting the pictures off? Everything is the onboard memory, no media card.
