I think Oleg has identified the problem. To verify please report the
result on your Mac of:
wd'javalaf'
It looks as if the startup needs to bit smarter in selecting the LAF.
I think Chris did make the change for startup.ijs but chose to use a
different name for jconsole to avoid conflicts. I think this was
mentioned in a forum message. I will track it down and add it to the
relhigh notes.

The problem may be because under Jdk 5.0 it's called
"Mac OS X" and under Jdk 4.02 it's called "Mac OS X Aqua".
So it's not found in the selection.

I should have also noted that "Mac OS X Aqua" doesn't
appear at all in my clean installs (the Aqua bit).
