Your display is interesting in a couple of ways. I can't
attach screen shots here, so you have to trust that I'm
seeing what I say. I just did some more clean installs.
A cat of the config.ijs before starting jw the first time
finds there is no file. After the first startup (which
has "Metal" LAF) the file exists, but it is somewhat
different than the one you showed in your message...
It starts off with a different NB. to begin with so I get
the feeling something is mixed up. In your display of
config.ijs, I don't even see the JAVALAF line that is in
mine. And sure enough, when I display JAVALAF in jw I see:
JAVALAF
Mac
But it is in a Metal/Linux LAF pane... You have a difference
as well from what Eric reported (about the dialog in
edit>>configure... having an empty box for Java Settings >>
Look and Feel: ... By the way, I took this opportunity to
explore the behavior of j601/user/config/startup.ijs -- there
was a recent discussion about it being a replacement for my
modified profile.ijs. It still doesn't work for jconsole ...
Anyway, here is what my latest "clean install looked like:
