I don't understand the x causing an exit from terminal. This has been tested
mostly on Linux with the assumption that Mac would behave properly. I will
take a look to see if there is something obviously wrong with the script.

When I replied x to test the bin/sh exit from looking
at it a second time, my terminal window was also cancelled...
NOT nice (at all).
