What happens when you run vcredist_x86.exe? Do you get a window showing
the installation, or does it run silently - the latter means it fails.
Also, you should ensure that you have a recent version. The latest is
dated 8/27/2007. In microsoft.com, search for:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86).
