I think the policy of only having key parts of the documentation on the Wiki is totally unsatisfactory for many users.

In March the issue was raised in this forum, but Chris replied that he did not want duplication. Well if you cannot access the web, or for some reason web access is very slow then it is essential to have some local copies. The previous solution of having Project Manager, Grid and Plot docs in the User Documentation was fine. In any case, in my experience, accessing them via the Wiki takes much longer than the older solution - especially in the case where one needs to follow through a range of pages.

I have had several occasions over the recent past where I wanted to make reference to the docs, but have had no means of obtaining it. It is extremely frustrating to be working on something where a simple reference to the docs may help, but they are completely unaccessible.

Can someone please design a simple way of downloading them and making them accessible locally? If necessary, could the JAL tools be expanded to cover these docs as well?
