I disagree that the previous solution was fine. In the old days, user
documentation was often incomplete and out of date. Updates from the
community had to be routed through us, and wait for the next release
before becoming available to all.

The script library and accompanying documentation are areas where the
community can contribute directly to the system. The wiki, JAL and the
SVN repositories allow everyone to do this without involving us. I think
this works much better than before.

What Oleg has done for Plot should be adequate for other major parts of
the system. However, it would be nice to be able to snapshot the entire
wiki for offline use - it is an open question on how best to do this.
