The script library and accompanying documentation are areas where the
community can contribute directly to the system. The wiki, JAL and the
SVN repositories allow everyone to do this without involving us. I think
this works much better than before.

What Oleg has done for Plot should be adequate for other major parts of
the system. However, it would be nice to be able to snapshot the entire
wiki for offline use - it is an open question on how best to do this.

I agree the old situation was not perfect. The contributions of the user community are having a great impact and have the potential to really expand the facilities available to all.

Oleg's solution for Plot is great. The ability to snapshot the entire Wiki for offline use would be another good step. Thanks for the references.
