So to clarify am I right in saying that the current plan is:
 * current jwd GUI will be maintained and should continue to work on Windows 
but won't be improved

 * current jwdp GUI will not be maintained and is likely to be broken by J7.01

 * The base install for J7.01 is likely just to have jconsole & jhs JFEs 
   as well as at least command line interfaces for Package Manager & Project 
manager.

 * A GTK GUI replacement for the jwd & jwdp GUIs will be made available via the 
Package Manager.
