I can tell you for sure that at least one user is going to cry over the fading of jexe. For some applications I just can't let it go.
For my trading application, I worry about the responsiveness of a browser. Firefox consumes vast amounts of memory and seems to run the CPU usage up to 100% for up to 10 minutes (!!) after a tab is deleted, depending on what the page was. In general, trying to share a browser with anything else is fraught with peril. Another large application I have deployed is a tournament-management system for highschool quiz tournaments. This is a place where novice users have to be protected from all possible mistakes, and where hitting the Back button could be a disaster. jexe lets me put up forms that have complete control of the system. I'm not sure how I would do that safely under a browser; and again, accurate timing is vital, and I don't know how I can manage that either. On the other hand, the new verb-conjugation game we are working on is a natural browser/server application. So I'd say bring on the new interface, but don't drop support on jexe. Maybe it won't be enhanced, but it should be supported on future versions of Windows. Henry Rich Eric Iverson wrote: > Thanks for the feedback. Your suggestions warrant investigation.
